Ready For Spring

Ok, well I put this flag out every year and usually it is just wishful thinking. If you've read the post before this one, you'll see it finally came through and we got some snow. Woohoo!! Ok, so now we are ready for warm weather and Spring. Colt is already getting ready for Spring Training and the beginning of the baseball season - one of our favorites in the house - as many of you could figure out. For Christmas, Casey's parents got him a Kansas City Royals jersey. Although I have to say I am more of a Braves fan, I did like the old school Royals with George Brett and Bo Jackson. There is an ongoing bet each year between Casey and me during World Series time. He is always for the American League team and I am always for the National League team and usually I lose, except this year - thanks Phillies! Anyway, bring on Spring, the crack of the bat and that fresh outfield grass. Play Ball!!

The flag finally worked!

Colt showing off his new Royals jersey.

Probably not what he should be swinging at. I think he was only tapping.

Snow - AT THE BEACH?!?!

Today, we got about an inch of snow. It hasn't snowed in Wilmington in years according to the paper. I was prepared as soon as the first flake fell, because I wanted to be sure Colt got to play in ever how much fell. In these pictures, it was really falling hard and fast and was so pretty. Kansas loved playing and running around in it and Colt laughed the entire time at Kansas running so fast around the yard. It not as impressive a snow fall as my friend Susan gets in New Mexico, but hey, it's pretty good for the beach!!!

In this first video, we had just gone outside and Colt and Kansas were so excited. Just to let everyone know, no children or animals were harmed in the making of this video.

In this video, Colt is wondering where his daddy is.

Playing with Kans. It was falling so fast, it started collecting on his fur.

This soon melted, but a little remains.

Colt and George

Curious George and Colt are inseparable. Colt sleeps with him every night and always wants to take him downstairs in the morning and after his nap, but we leave him upstairs so Kansas doesn't play with him. He even let him ride on his horse, Lucky, with him the other morning. If he can't find him or wants him, Colt yells, "Joe!" As soon as you hand him to him, he gives George the biggest bear hug ever. Just like George, Colt is also very curious. This is a picture of what he did a good bit of the time while we were in Kansas. He wanted to play in Nana's pantry. I guess George joined in this time.

New Year's Eve Fun

Since we were gone so long over Christmas, we hadn't given Colt his presents from us, yet. We decided to pull them out on New Year's Eve. He had so much fun playing with more toys and then we went out to eat at Outback. Yum - cheese fries and ranch are the best!!!! Hope everyone had a good New Year's and has a great 2009. We can't wait to wait Colt grow and learn this year and see what it has in store for us.

Playing in his new ball pit. I forgot to buy more than balls than it came with, so he had fun tipping it over.

Me and my little man with his new xylophone and broom. He's such a good helper when I clean.

Me and my other baby, Kansas.

"Hey, did you say my name?"

Driving while talking on a cell phone. Never a good combination.

This is what happens if you talk and drive. Let this be lesson!
